Bilfinger Berger to build new correctional facility in Düsseldorf
Bilfinger Berger, the construction and services Group, is to build a new correctional facility in Düsseldorf for the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia. The order has a volume of €120 million. The prison, with space for 850 inmates, will be put into operation in the fall of 2011 and will replace existing facilities which can no longer meet current demand.

Bilfinger Berger wins €100 million order for railway tunnel in Stockholm
Bilfinger Berger has won an order to build a 1.9-kilometer long section of the City Rail Tunnel in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, improving the connection from the city’s main station to the national railway network. The order has a volume of €100 million. The tunnel section will be completed by 2015 and the entire line will go into service in 2017.

Interim Report Q1 2009
Bilfinger Berger started the year 2009 with a good first quarter. Output volume, orders received and operating profit (EBIT) all showed strong growth due, in particular, to positive development in the services business. The construction business remained generally stable, and an important transport project was added to the privately financed concessions portfolio.

Facility Services wins significant repeat orders: Deutsche Bank, IBM, Alstom and EADS place their trust in Bilfinger Berger
Bilfinger Berger Facility Services has started the year 2009 with high volumes of orders received. Framework agreements with Deutsche Bank, IBM, Alstom and EADS have been renewed with a total volume of €360 million and contract periods of three to five years.

Public-private partnership: Bilfinger Berger to modernize and operate schools in Hof
Bilfinger Berger will modernize four schools in the district of Hof in Bavaria on the basis of a public-private partnership, and will subsequently operate the schools for a period of 21 years. The project includes the modernization and expansion of three existing schools as well as the construction of a new school center. Investment volume amounts to more than €50 million and the financing does not require any equity contribution from the Bilfinger Berger Group.

Expansion of capacity in power plant service: Bilfinger Berger acquires majority stake in industrial installation company Duro Dakovic
Bilfinger Berger has increased its stake in the publicly-listed Croatian industrial installation company Duro Dakovic Montaza from about 25 percent to a majority stake. The Group is acquiring an additional 50 percent of the shares from the Croatian state and will make a public tender offer for the 10 percent of shares that are in free float.

Investment in climate protection: Bilfinger Berger to supply piping system for RWE power plant Westfalen
Bilfinger Berger has received an order from RWE Power AG for the design, manufacture, assembly and commissioning of the high-pressure piping systems as well as medium and low pressure piping for two new units at the Westfalen hard coal fired power plant in Hamm, Germany. The order volume amounts to €140 million.

Drinking water a market of the future: Bilfinger Berger to build €410 million seawater desalination plant in Australia
In Australia, Bilfinger Berger, together with two partners, has won an order for the design and construction of a seawater desalination plant in Port Stanvac near Adelaide. Total project volume amounts to €410 million, of which €165 million is accounted for by Bilfinger Berger.

Changes in the Executive Board of Bilfinger Berger AG
The Supervisory Board of Bilfinger Berger AG has appointed Thomas Töpfer (47) Member of the Executive Board effective April 1, 2009. He is currently Chairman of the Executive Board at Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services AG and has been a member of that body since 2001.

XFEL x-ray flash project in Hamburg: Bilfinger Berger to build tunnel system valued at €200 million
Bilfinger Berger has won an order to build major sections of the six-kilometer long winding tunnel system for the new XFEL x-ray flash facility in Hamburg. The project, with a total volume of over €200 million, will be carried out as a joint venture, 50% of which is accounted for by Bilfinger Berger.

Public private partnerships a model of success: Bilfinger Berger awarded German seal of approval for sustainable construction
Three projects carried out by Bilfinger Berger have been awarded the German seal of approval of sustainable construction. The regional administration building in Hanover, a public private partnership (PPP) project, received the medal in gold, the center of justice in Chemnitz, another PPP project, was awarded bronze. The Laim290 office building in Munich, which was built for Vivico, received a silver medal.

Privately-financed motorway project for €340 million: Bilfinger Berger reaches financial close in Scotland
Bilfinger Berger will be starting work on another major privately-financed transport project in 2009. A consortium under the leadership of the construction and services Group has been selected to expand a section of the M80 motorway to the north of Glasgow, Scotland on the basis of a concession model.
